Critical Daily is an interactive, participatory project for graphic designers. It operates as a blogzine and an open archive, allowing users to browse, search, comment and add content related to critical practice in graphic design. It brings information about what designers think and how they reflect the world they live-in through visual means.
The self-published entries and projects are displayed as articles or posts. They are ranked on the page via an algorithm called CriticalMeter that indicates their critical perspective, and can be customised according to personal preference. This innovative aspect is presented in zine format, enabling designers to build their own post-digital archive.
The key aspects of this project are: the participation of graphic designers (adding content), its social impact (building a community of designers, as citizens and commentators), its historical and theoretical significance (proof of the transformation in design through social media).
